Calamansac (East Wing)

Calamansac forms the western headland of Port Navas Creek overlooking the Helford River. The houses stand in 50 acres of meadow garden and woodland, wonderful for spring flowers. The woods drop down to Port Navas Creek to the east and Helford River to the south and west. It is secluded, 7 miles from Falmouth and close to the village of Port Navas.

Access is by a steep private road, about half a mile long, leading from the centre of the village.

Calamansac provides a unique opportunity for launching dinghies at all states of the tide and in any weather. There is a road through the wood to a slipway and a safe anchorage with a lock-up boat house for storage of gear. Calamansac provides superb access to the water, the Helford and its fascinating Creeks;- dinghy parking, launching and mooring for your own boat and a range of boats for hire, all by arrangement. Though part of the same building, joined by the playroom, the East and West Wing's have separate access and parking, establishing their privacy. When both wings are booked as one, sound resisting doors can be opened, otherwise the playroom is let for the sole use of the East Wing.

With the possibility to sleep up to twenty-nine the East Wing, West Wing and Sail Loft together provides a unique setting for large groups.

Free Membership of Port Navas yacht club where meals are also available, is included. Trengilly Wartha is within 2.5 miles and serves very good food.

KITCHEN/DINING ROOM : large open plan room with table and chairs for 14. Welsh dresser. Superb view of the Helford Anchorage and the mouth of the river. Kitchen with two electric cookers & hobs, extractor fans, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer.

UTILITY ROOM : with washing machine, sink, drying area for wet weather gear and seperate WC.

PLAYROOM : 12m x 6m, with swing and table tennis, French windows opening into the garden overlooking the River, with level lawn suitable for ball games. This room may not be used after 9pm and before 9am.

Large, comfortable LIVING ROOM : with 2 single divan storage beds, T.V. with freeview channels and DVD player. Range of sofas and easy chairs.

SNORING ROOM : compact with single bed.

SHOWER ROOM : with walk in shower.

GROUND FLOOR DOUBLE BEDROOM : with superking bed, dressing table and chair, door to

ENSUITE BATHROOM : bath, and shower over, wash basin and WC.

FIRST FLOOR

LARGE PASSAGE ROOM : with four single beds in alcoves.

DOUBLE BEDROOM SOUTH : with superking double bed and superb view of the Helford anchorage and the mouth of the River.

SHOWER ROOM : spacious with bath, separate shower, W.C. and wash basin.

PARKING : for up to 5 cars.

WHEELCHAIR USER : access to ground floor of the East Wing via the playroom and West Wing's car park, must be arranged at the time of booking.

We used the croquet lawn and the ping-pong and the piano - a lot. Especially we loved the enormous table for our family meals. The drying room was a godsend. It is a peaceful, lovely spot and it was good to wander about the woods and down to the beach and spend quiet time watching the gentle rain.
