Helford River (Port Navas)
Trevean is a delightful, detached cottage in the pretty, creek side village of Port Navas. Set within half an acre of garden, much of it laid to lawn and a stream running along the bottom of the garden, this property will appeal to those looking for a tranquil retreat in the Helford River area.
Internally you will not be disappointed. Trevean was fully refurbished during 2006 to provide, cosy but spacious accommodation for up to 6 people, with oil-fired central heating, an open fire in the sitting room and under floor heating in the kitchen, conservatory and ground floor bathroom.
Retaining many of the original features, Trevean, has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, plenty of reception rooms and a fantastic garden running around the whole of the perimeter of the cottage, with a patio for relaxing and taking in the peaceful surroundings.
Visitors to Trevean are offered free temporary membership to the Port Navas Yacht and Social Club. For further information on the club please follow the link from our Links page.
Port Navas is situated at the head of one of the most delightful tidal creeks on the Helford River and is approximately 7 miles from Falmouth, 6 miles from Helston and 16 miles from Truro. Constantine and Mawnan Smith both have a variety of shops. It is a good centre from which to visit the many sandy coves and fishing villages of the Lizard Peninsula. The north coast is within an hours drive and several secluded beaches are just a short drive away. Passenger ferries are available from Helford Passage to Helford and from Falmouth Prince of Wales Pier to the upper River Fal, St. Mawes, Truro and Helford River. The beautiful subtropical gardens of 'Trebah' and National Trust 'Glendurgan' are nearby.
SAILING The area is a yachtsman's paradise, excellent for sailing, motor-boating or rowing and is a perfect base for those wishing to explore the Helford River and its upper reaches, including Frenchman's Creek, immortalised by the late Daphne Du Maurier. Slipway facilities are available for launching boats and moorings may be arranged. Both motor and sailing boats may be hired locally with sailing tuition available. Local Regattas.

"Lovely welcoming cottage, peaceful and pretty. Children enjoyed garden, grounds and stream. Much time spent in the conservatory which is specious and light. Good food at Port Navas Yacht Club - friendly and welcoming. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday for the whole family."
"Had a wonderful peaceful holiday...dogs loved the sandy beaches... people very friendly... cottage very homely."
"Beautiful cottage in secluded spot made for a peaceful holiday. Yacht club great food and very friendly."
"Just to let you know that we were very impressed with the cottage and its beautiful garden. However, what really impressed us was the attention to detail. We have stayed in many holiday cottages in west cornwall over the last twenty years and I can say, hand on heart, that your was definitely the best yet."
