Falmouth (Penryn)
You cannot fail to be impressed when you enter Anchor Loft. The first time I visited my jaw dropped; the attention to detail, coupled with the vast space and natural stone features, have produced the most wonderful results.
This third floor maisonette apartment, formed out of part of the Anchor Quay Warehouse, the centrepiece of the Anchor Quay development was built during 2006 and is situated on the edge of the ancient town of Penryn. Nestling just behind the quay walls of the south facing inner harbour, the warehouse historically was used for processing goods from the South Pacific.
Internally the property has a combination of wooden flooring in the living areas/bedrooms and tiled floors in the bathrooms. Gas central heating, all the mod-cons, beautiful furnishings, exposed stone walls and the huge feature chimney in the living room, make this a truly memorable and very comfortable holiday home.
Less than 3 miles from the harbour side town of Falmouth and 12 from Cornwall's capital, Truro, Anchor Loft will provide you with a lavish and well-appointed base for exploring both the south and north coasts of Cornwall.
Just across the road is the well documented eco-building, Jubilee Wharf and the excellent, Miss Peapod's Cafe, where you can enjoy food on the sundeck, overlooking the harbour. Please take a look at their website for further info and details of live music events: http://misspeapod.jubileewharf.co.uk/peapod-home.html
The waterside village of Flushing, just 2 miles away features the Flushing Quay Restaurant (www.quayrestaurant.co.uk - tel: 01326 373734). Situated on the end of the quay, the views are wonderful and the food highly recommended.
Mylor Harbour, also 2 miles, or 8 minutes by car, has three eateries. A café, Castaways Wine Bar (which welcomes dogs and has great tapas style food) and The Seafood Restaurant, a top quality restaurant for those special occasions.

"What an extraordinary and comfortable apartment !! All the lovely details and the warm and welcoming atmosphere made our stay here really special. Thank you for that ! The apartment rates one of the best we have stayed in. Love the view, we have found this a very comfortable apartment, tastefully furnished & we have appreciated the little extras & good quality fixtures and appliances. It is always nice to find a well fitted out kitchen with enough to cook with. We have enjoyed staying here & would happily come back another time. Sky would be nice but we did enjoy listening to the Bose Wave radio however !"
"Lovely apartment and fantastic view - wish we could take it home ! Great place to explore from - beaches, hill walks, old towns. Sticky Prawn lived up to expectations and so did the Three Mackerels. Sea Shanty festival brought back childhood memories of 'singing' in primary school - good fun. Lots of real ales ...... A great holiday. Star & Garter - lovely views, good food, inexpensive."
