Quay House

Area :
Helford River (Port Navas)

This south-facing apartment is situated on the quay at Port Navas Yacht Club, on the waters' edge by the delightful creek of the Helford River. The wonderful views from the living room, kitchen and master bedroom are uninterrupted from the large balcony which runs the full width of the property.

Port Navas is a small village at the head of Port Navas Creek on the north side of the Helford River, 2 miles from both Constantine and Mawnan Smith near Falmouth. Falmouth is only six miles away and this interesting old town has retained the charm of an old fishing port and offers good shopping facilities, restaurants and traditional Cornish pubs.

There are several beautiful sub-tropical gardens nearby and ample opportunity for picturesque, waterside walks. The apartment is situated on the quay originally used for shipping out granite stone. The area is now a peaceful haven with wooded shores and many local walks, within the North Helford conservation area and many lovely, safe, sandy beaches within ten to fifteen minutes drive.

Sailing facilities on the beautiful Helford River are among the finest in England and temporary membership to Port Navas Yacht Club (bar and restaurant) is included; with boats and moorings available for hire locally, making this an ideal base from which to explore the area. The creek itself dries for three to four hours out of every twelve.

The apartment occupies the first floor of the building and is accessed via more than a dozen fairly steep open-tread steps. Therefore, we consider the property to be unsuitable for anyone with mobility impairments and those with very small children should be cautious.

THE STUDIO: The upper-most level of the property is an open plan studio which is available (by arrangement at extra cost) as additional accommodation and accessed via a staircase from Quay House.

"Your property exceeded even my expectations! What a splendid location with breath-taking views and the food and atmosphere at the yacht club was great - have eaten there almost every night! The Queens Arms also very good, The Whisky shop in Constantine was unbelievable and cream Tea at Sithney General Stores superb!"
