National Maritime Cornwall

⁠National Maritime Museum Cornwall is an independent museum celebrating the influence of the sea on history and culture and telling the story of Cornwall’s incredible maritime heritage. Situated beside the third largest natural deep-water harbour in the world a visit will educate, inspire and leave you wanting to experience the sea first hand.

With over 15 galleries which span over 5 floors, a boatbuilding workshop, interactive exhibits and a collection that spans The National Small Boat collection, exciting exhibitions, artworks, maps and charts and memorabilia, there’s plenty to explore at this family-friendly museum.

The National Maritime Museum is a place to enrich our understanding of the sea, and Cornwall, through their exhibitions programme they aspire to bring new and diverse perspectives to maritime issues and highlight their relevance to the present day. They also bring rare objects from around the world to Cornwall to tell local, national and international stories, and the museum is home to The National Small Boat Collection, representative of boats from the UK and around the world. 

The National Maritime Museum Cornwall is an Arts Council-funded Major Partner Museum, under the umbrella of the Cornwall Museum Partnership. Its work is supported by a wide range of generous supporters, including the Heritage Lottery Fund, the John Ellerman Foundation, and Cornwall Council.

The 100 foot Lookout Tower boasts panoramic views over Falmouth tower and the Waterside Cafe is known to have some of the best views in Falmouth.
