Introducing… The Farmhouse Cottage

Near the Helford River
There’s nothing quite like a stone cottage. The type that children dream up are almost always a door framed by windows, with chimney-pots rising into perfectly higgledey-piggledey spires. There are some holiday cottages that we visit that just look and feel like home. The latest addition to our portfolio of holiday homes in the Falmouth and Helford River area, The Farmhouse Cottage, is just that.

Take a look at The Farmhouse Cottage

The Farmhouse Cottage has been lovingly restored from it’s 1800’s origins by a local craftsman. Rooms have been opened up and light brought in, but the integrity of the building remains with traditional features at every turn. On the ground floor, a splendid farmhouse kitchen with AGA range and electric oven sits at the heart of the home. An open-plan living room with dining area, woodburner, and all-important cocktail trolley are there to bring joy to your stay. A separate TV room is a great breakout space for teenagers, or for families who can’t quite agree on what to watch when the light fades into the evening.

Treviades, Helford River

Set in the quiet hamlet of Treviades, a walk or short drive from Port Navas on the Helford River. A wealth of country walks and things to do are right on the doorstep. The famous Potager Greenhouse and Cafe is just a stone’s throw away from the holiday cottage, and serves home grown food in gorgeous surroundings.

Chocolate-box holiday cottage in Cornwall

A holiday cottage with all the trappings of what makes a holiday in Cornwall so ideal, life at The Farmhouse Cottage is one of country idyll. Walk the fields with wicker baskets filled to the brim with wildflowers. Go river swimming and wandering country lanes at golden hour. Surround yourself and your loved ones with the sweet murmurings of rural life, buzzing bees and chirping birds in the day, gently hooting owls at night. This is Cottagecore at it’s finest, and the Helford River was made for holidays just like this.

And it’s not all country lanes and ramblings. Perfect for family holidays, the surfing beaches of Praa and stretches of golden sand are a short journey away, as are the dramatic clifftops of The Lizard. Adventures on the water can be had on the Helford River for all the family. Sail in safe water, charter powerboats, or take kayaks and paddleboards out to explore secret beaches and secluded creeks.

In early 2021, The Farmhouse Cottage will undergo an even further series of renovations. This will see the master bedroom transformed with a vaulted ceiling and en-suite bathroom.
