Holidays are important and to enable you to plan ahead with confidence, we are introducing some flexible terms, contrary to our standard terms and conditions.

Our Flexible Booking Policy

Welcome to a temporary, flexible, booking policy for any stay up to 31st October 2021. Should you not be able to travel because your home, or holiday home be in a lock down, or you or one of your named guests contracts COVID 19 then we will in the first instance offer a transfer to an alternative date, in the same property, to be taken no later than 31st October 2022. You may transfer your booking to a higher or lower value period, however please note that you will be liable to pay any difference should the value be higher. If you defer to a cheaper time then you will be credited with the price difference.

Please be aware that any existing or new insurance policy may not cover you for any cancellation related to COVID 19 but we recommend that you take out insurance to cover all other events that may result in your booking being cancelled. Please note that the flexible booking is available only in relation to any cancellation that arises directly as a result of Government advice against travel in your home location, or the property location, or due to you, or one of your party becoming unwell with COVID 19. For all other cancellations our standard terms and conditions apply.

In order to book using our flexible booking policy you will need to opt in at the booking stage and transfers will only be available on the basis that you give notice of your intention to transfer at least 72 hours before your arrival due date.

Where there is no availability in your previously booked property (or those owned by the same owner) then we will issue a refund (however please note that the booking fee is non-refundable and a £30 administration fee for the cancellation will apply).

These terms are a temporary variation to our standard terms and conditions.

Update – Monday 22nd February 2021

Following the UK government’s announcement we are grateful that self-catering holiday homes are able to open from 12th April. If you have a booking prior to this date please do email your change of dates through, or wait for us to be in touch with you to rearrange your booking. To be fair to everyone we will work through the bookings in chronological order.

If your booking was due to commence the weekend prior to 12th April please have a think as to whether you would like to still holiday, albeit for a shorter period.

We hope and pray this is the last time we have to manage disappointment. Please bear with us as we will be extraordinarily busy for the following few days.

The good news is that holidays for single households can resume from 12 April and from 17th May, (provisionally), up to six people, or two households can stay together in holiday homes. From 21st June, (again provisionally) all social contact restrictions will be eased. All of this is subject to the vaccination program being successful and the R rate diminishing of course.

Are the restaurants, pubs, cafes and attractions open?

From 12th April you will be able to use beer garden and restaurant’s outside seating to dine, or of course the wonderful takeaway options that most establishments have diversified to offer. With the latter you can eat on your favourite beach with the breeze in your hair and the elements all around you.

From 17th May restaurants, bars and cafes will be able to seat you inside again, albeit with reduced occupancy levels, so to ensure availability please book ahead to ensure the optimum comfort for everyone.

What about supermarkets?

Please consider purchasing your holiday home food from our local suppliers such as the Cornish Food Box Company. Mention you are staying with CHC and get £5 off a £50 order. Your items will be delivered direct to your holiday home. Please also visit our local artisan bakers such as Stones Bakery, or Baker Tom, both in Falmouth. Here you will also find a fishmonger, butcher, many pasty shops, ‘Un Rap’ a zero waste store, a brilliant health food shop and the divine Courtyard deli. Small businesses need consumers more than ever.

How will the cottage be prepared for me?

Your holiday home will be rigorously cleaned, from top to bottom, prior to your arrival. We are effectively carrying out a full house sanitisation. The odd long standing, family, second home might not have their books cleaned/put away, as they have so many, however in those cases signage will notify you of this.

All the ‘touch points’ will be thoroughly clean and we would be grateful if you could leave them so on departure.

Will my holiday home be as ‘normal’?

Certain things will have been removed such as some of the soft furnishings, (mainly bed cushions and throws), board games, books, dry food items and maps, as they cannot be thoroughly cleaned each changeover. Please therefore bring any of these items with you, if you so desire them. Otherwise you should find your holiday cottage every bit as normal as usual.

What would happen if I should contract COVID19 whilst on holiday?

If you start to feel unwell whilst on holiday you must call the NHS 111 service immediately and then notify us on01326 250339 or out of hours, on 07812 007153. If you are well enough to travel, we are sure you will want to go home, however care should be taken not to stop off en-route where you could risk infecting others and spreading the virus. If you are too unwell to travel and you have to isolate for two weeks and this goes beyond the end of your planned holiday period, then Cornish Holiday Cottages will endeavor to enable you to stay on and the extra nights will be charged to you. Any future affected bookings would be offered the opportunity to reschedule, or should this not be possible, then we would be obligated to refund their stay/transfer them to another property. On your departure, we would close the accommodation for at least 72 hours and then perform a full decontamination clean. The following guests (if they should fall within two weeks of the date of departure of the affected guests) would be informed that there had been COVID in the building.

How can we keep each other as safe as possible?

Please frequently wash your hands time and wear a face mask in public spaces, shops etc. For everyone’s peace of mind please maintain social distancing when out and about. If you feel unwell, do not go out and let us know immediately. You will be sent a self-certification of wellness prior to your arrival. Please be sure to complete this and notify us of any changes should they occur afterwards.

Can I book for 2022 now?

Yes you can. Most of the holiday home owners are yet to book their own usage for 2022, so bookings are provisional at this stage and the rates are yet to be set, however you can take advantage of the rate freeze for 2021 and roughly expect no more than a 6-10% increase for 2022.
