Whether you fly, sail, drive or take the slow train for your get-away break, below are some useful links to help your travel plans.

Getting Here

Once here most visitors use a car to explore. For those with an electric vehicle, SWARCO E Connect have been installing charging points in several car parks in Falmouth, including: Town Quarry Car Park, Grove Place Car Park, The Dell Car Park and Gyllyngvase Long Stay Car Park. We recommend downloading the SWARCO app before your visit as this allows you to see the type and location of the point available, plus set up a direct debit as not all stations have a credit card or RFID facility.

If you feel like a rest from behind the wheel try the friendly local services for getting around.

Newquay Airport is approximately a one hours drive from the airport to Falmouth. For car hire arrangements try Europcar.

First Great Western run a regular train service from London Paddington to Truro. Onwards from Truro to Falmouth take The Maritime Line. For car hire collection at the station try www.avis.co.uk

National Express Coach Services will deliver you straight to the door at Kimberley Park Rd, Falmouth. A minute walk into town and you’ll find the local taxi rank.

 

Once you have arrived in Cornwall there are many different ways to explore this beautiful county.

Getting around

Bringing your own boat? Falmouth Port operates a bustling Visitors’ yacht haven, small craft moorings, boat-park and slipway.

Local ferries connect Falmouth, Flushing, Malpas, Helford River, St. Mawes and Truro via some of Cornwall most idyllic estuaries and inlets.

The comprehensive network of local bus services are operated by First Bus. Both will take you from the Helford and surrounding areas in Falmouth and from Falmouth out to places such as Helston, Truro, Penzance and St.Ives. www.firstgroup.com

Once in Falmouth there is a local Shuttle Bus service that helps to keep the level of traffic to a minimum. Running every 20 minutes and stopping at approximately 14 venues you’ll never by more than a few paces away from your chosen destination. Falmouth’s popular ‘Park and Float’ service during the summer conveniently marries easy parking in Ponsharden with arriving into town in style via passenger ferry.
