A bay window provides the perfect vantage point from which to watch the activity on the water commence, feel like a sailor as you look through the binoculars out onto an unparalleled view. From the yachts criss-crossing the harbour to the passenger ferries heading to St Mawes, and the fishermen returning with their catch of the day.

Just a two hundred metre stroll from Fisherman’s Haven and you are at the top of the Old High Street, where an array of interesting shops await you. Step into the Old Brewery Yard and enjoy an ale or a delicious lunch. Just a few paces down the hill you’ll find delicious local bakeries, coffee shops, and independent boutiques and art galleries. From bookshops to gift shops and art galleries you will find plenty of lovely things to do in Falmouth. See Falmouth harbour from the famous Prince of Wales Pier, where boat trips can be booked to explore the waters of the river Fal.

Location and Surrounding Area

Loading...

The River Fal and the nearby Helford River are well famed for their safe and sheltered waters. A haven for wildlife and tranquility the area is just as lovely to explore on foot, as to hire a little motor boat and bob about on the water for a day or so.

Falmouth has all you need, in terms of great food providers, shopping and entertainment, but should you want to explore further afield then there are great transport links across Cornwall with a mainline train station in Truro and various branchlines across the county, including three different stops in Falmouth. The closest to Fisherman’s Haven, (by taxi if you have luggage) is ‘Penmere Platform’, or a walk through the town centre leads you to ‘Falmouth Town’.

Cornwall has over 400 miles of coastline, so there’s much to explore. The Lizard, the UK’s most southerly point is rugged and dramatic and just a 40 minute drive away. Over on the north coast, you will find beautiful long sandy beaches, such as Perranporth and Gwithian.
