Rocky Waters

People like birds, like to roost up high and you can certainly do this at Rocky Waters. The house commands a charming, elevated position in the village, looking down on the rooftops of a few nearby houses.

Just yards from Port Navas creek, you are surrounded by ancient woodland, birds, swans and other wildlife. At the head of the estuary you can watch with interest as the tide ebbs and flows. Take a walk down to the Port Navas Restaurant and Bar and you might catch someone tending to their dinghy, or children jumping off the quay and splashing about in the river. Step back in time.

Mawnan Smith and Constantine villages are just over two miles away in opposite directions. Both have village shops, a pub and a great place to start some good round walks from. In Mawnan Smith there is also the very friendly Mawnan Maid cafe, Casa Juan Tapas restaurant, Post office and monthly farmer's market in the village hall. Constantine has the hidden gem that is Constantine Stores with its incredible collection of wines and spirits.

The harbourside town of Falmouth is twenty minutes away if you take the scenic coastal route via Mawnan Smith village, Maenporth and Swanpool beaches. Falmouth is a vibrant student, artist and boat building town with a brilliant array of independent restaurants, cafes, boutique style shops, plus some high street fare and great galleries from which you may just be tempted to buy a holiday momento.

The rugged Lizard, the UK's most southerly point, Kynance Cove, Kennack Sands, Coverack and other stunning beaches are around thirty minutes by car and will be sure to get your camera snapping. Bring layers, wetsuits, bathers, each towels and have fun getting wet.
