The Studio (Boat House)

The Studio, (formerly known as The Boat House and now under new ownership), is a wonderful retreat for a couple looking for an idyllic waterside abode on the creek edge at Port Navas. This cosy hideaway is simply perfect for a romantic self-catering break away from it all!

The Studio, was once owned and utilised by the renowned local artist Tom Cross (1931-2009), who was the Principle of Falmouth School of Art (now University College Falmouth) from 1972 until 1987 and wrote several books about art in Cornwall. His vibrant works of art were centred around his love of the Helford River.

This interesting, detached holiday home features the bedroom on a mezzanine platform and the sitting room with full roof height apexes and vast windows, that frame Port Navas creek. Cosy up of an evening around the wood-burner or outside of a summer's evening.

Hire kayaks or a small boat from Port Navas Yacht Club or Helford River Boats and really get to know the river as famed by Daphe Du Maurier.

Lovely, sandy beaches are within 15 minutes by car, at Durgan and Maenporth.  The Budock Vean Hotel with restaurant, 9 hole golf course, swimming pool, spa and restaurant is open to non-residents, is 5 mins by car. Falmouth town is within 6 miles.

It was the best holiday we have ever had, the location and the quality of the Boat House was stunning.
