Treviades Melyn

Treviades Melyn has soul. This together with its glorious, elevated position, far reaching views over the Lizard and the Helford River in the distance, make Treviades Melyn the most wonderful holiday home for you and your group of up to ten.

The huge, south facing garden is perfect for energetic children as it rolls gently away from the house and patio area, meaning the littles can do all the running, whilst you observe and relax with something cold!

Completely renovated by local master craftspeople in 2008, this former granite mill, exudes character and charm with its exposed roof beams and open vaulted ceiling above the winding staircase. Including the separate double bedroom and en-suite shower room, which is located across the cobbled parking area, there are five comfortable bedrooms. Three bedrooms have zip and link super-king beds, meaning that Treviades Melyn could lend itself well to a large group of artists or walkers, who are not necessarily travelling in couples and don't particularly want to share a bed. All the bedrooms in the main house have fantastic views over the rolling countryside and their own Juliet balconies.

Definitely not your average holiday home, the spacious interior is well thought out and underfloor heating in the ground floor, plus a wood-burner, mean you are sure to be cosy and warm, whatever the weather. The vast artworks, by the late Tom Cross, adorn the walls, as a testament to his love of the Helford River and to the house's enviable position just less than a mile from Port Navas creek.

Just up the road is the popular Potager Garden and Café, an absolute must for breakfast and cake. You will find that you can while away hours here, playing games in the greenhouse, or lolloping about in one of the garden hammocks. Down in the waterside village of Port Navas you will find the yacht club, with its great atmosphere, tasty food and local ales. Here you can launch your dinghy or kayaks and explore the Helford River in the best way possible. Water vessel hire can be organised from Helford Passage, also home to the excellent Ferry Boat Inn.

I just wanted to send a quick message about our wonderful stay at Treviades Melyn! The house was amazing, beautiful views and so tastefully decorated. The location was perfect, we enjoyed lots of gorgeous walks in the area with the two dogs who had a great time! The house was spotlessly clean and the garden was so pretty! The property was so well equipped, it had everything we could possibly ever need.
