The waterside public house and restaurant, the Pandora Inn and the more local Lemon Arms are just 15 and 5 minutes walk, respectively. Approximately 15 minutes walk along narrow country lanes will take you to Weir Point where there is a peaceful, safe and secluded shingle beach. The sandy beaches of Falmouth are a 10 minute drive away. For evening beach sun head to Kiln Quay in Flushing.

Mylor Yacht Harbour also offers sailing schools, boat hire, berths, two excellent restaurants, (one dog-friendly) and a café.

The towns of Penryn (about 2 miles) and Falmouth (about 3½ miles) have some fantastic independent restaurants. Cornwall's capital, Truro (about 8½ miles) provides a more comprehensive range of shopping facilities plus a theatre and a mainline train station.
