Sailor’s Rest occupies the ground floor of this 19th century former sea captain’s house in one of the most idyllic, waterside streets in Falmouth.
Completely self-contained and with a spacious kitchen and open plan living area, plus luxury shower room and double bedroom, this apartment makes for a wonderful, relaxing base for your holiday in Cornwall.
The large bay window in the living room offers stunning views of the harbour, where you are sure to while away some time taking in the ever changing scenery on the water.
On Saturdays, May to September you will no doubt enjoy the spectacle of the Falmouth Working Boats sailing around the harbour. These gaff-rigged cutters have hardly changed in 200 years, largely due to the Falmouth by-laws that prohibit oyster dredging by any mechanical means.
Sailor’s Rest is well appointed for Falmouth town, with some of the best restaurants and pubs within 200m of the apartment. Olivers and The Boathouse to name two. A stroll down the old High Street (quite steep) and you are in the heart of the town centre, where restaurants, waterside pubs and interesting shops await you.
From the Prince of Wales Pier you can catch small passenger ferries to St.Mawes, Truro, Flushing and the Helford River. Towards the other end of Falmouth town centre is the Events Square on Discovery Quay and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.
