Summary

*Newly renovated in early May 2023 *
Self-catering holiday homes in Cornwall are often described as by the sea but this waterside apartment really couldn’t be any closer! From the small balcony off the living room, steps lead directly onto the beach at low tide, or at high tide see the water lap right below the (almost) floor to ceiling windows.

This ground floor, three bedroom apartment is in the charming Packet Quays in Falmouth. Ideally suited to those who can manage steps and don’t mind Falmouth’s hills, but want to sit back, relax and enjoy the uninterrupted views. Sailing yachts and other pleasure boats provide an ever-changing scene whatever the weather.

This holiday home has undergone a complete renovation of the bedrooms, living room and kitchen (during early 2023). Contemporary, comfortably furnished and well equipped with electric central heating and double glazing. Falmouth town center, with all its amenities, is just a few minutes walk, up the rustic granite steps ope and onto the top of the Old High Street, a lovely mix of independent boutiques, including Stones Bakery for your breakfast pastries, creative workshops and vintage shops.

To the side of Victoria Quay is a slipway where a dinghy or kayak can be launched. Falmouth Marina is a three-minute drive away. Some steep steps or a longer sloping route take you up to the High Street level, from where you are minutes walk from the main shopping centre of Falmouth. From the heart of Falmouth, explore the historic town, or take a boat trip from the nearby Prince of Wales Pier to St Mawes, Flushing, or further afield.

Falmouth has a great mix of unusual shops, waterside bars and restaurants, as well as leisure activities, such as the Ships and Castles swimming pool, art galleries and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. Lovely beaches are nearby, and you’ll be a short drive away from the Helford River- an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with beautiful scenery.

The property is very nearly perfect, especially in its newly renovated state. The only slight downside is the comfort of the furniture which scores highly on aesthetic, but less well on homely comfort

Access & small children: whilst this apartment is on the ground floor, please note that it is located on the water’s edge and to get up to the Old High Street many steep steps, or a hill must be navigated. Furthermore the apartment is 100m from the parking spaces and the allocated parking is only really suitable for medium sized cars. There are three steps into the apartment. To get onto the balcony is one step and to get down to the beach from the private balcony (at low tide only) are a long flight, of uneven and steep stone steps. For this reason this apartment is not suitable for children under 5.

Natalie & Family, staying at Victoria Quay 2

We love this property for its proximity to the sea. This ground floor apartment has its very own small balcony with steps directly onto the beach or into the sea - depending on the tide. We have enjoyed the quietness and the views for several years and will continue to do so. The ever-moving scenery is lovely. And all so close to the town. This year we all had a go at paddleboarding with varying success!!! The ease of getting on and off the board at high or low tide is the best. Then up the steps to the cosy indoors and a yummy Cornish pasty. What more could you want from a holiday. We will be back!
