Child Friendly Beaches in Cornwall

Cornwall is renowned for its clean and beautiful beaches, and the local area is awash with great beaches for the whole family. Here is a selection of the best child friendly beaches in Cornwall

Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth

For anyone who knows the local area, Gyllyngvase is the obvious choice for a day out with the bucket and spade. Gyllyngvase has always been known as being a great beach for kids, and is great for a bit of rock-pooling. Life Guards are always on duty in the season, and ice creams are always on tap! Also, if you fancy something a little more sophisticated to eat, the Gylly Beach cafe is on hand throughout the day.

Maenporth Beach

Things to Do

Maenporth Beach

Just a couple of miles outside of Falmouth, this delightful and family friendly beach. Although we may be a little bit biased, we think that this is the perfect spot for families, with a lovely beach cafe and rock pools to either side of a gentle water line

Swanpool Beach

Things to Do

Swanpool Beach

Just a short walk from Falmouth, Swanpool is a sandy beach with a miniature golf course, cafe, bouncy castle and is home to Elemental, who run watersports activities from the beach, including stand-up paddleboarding and sailing.

The cafe serves hot and cold drinks, lunch, but most importantly ice-cream. A 'hedgehog' (vanilla ice-cream in a cone, covered in clotted cream and rolled in toasted hazelnuts) is not to be missed!
