At Cornish Holiday Cottages
we offer a boutique portfolio of properties in the cosmopolitan marina town of Falmouth and the romantic ‘Du Maurier' setting of the Helford River and surrounding creek side locations.
Situated in the heart of Mawnan Smith village, our family business, founded in 1977 by Mrs Ruth Austen, works behind the scenes to provide the personal touches you need.
Breath-taking sea view apartments, tucked away waterside retreats, cosy home from homes and those with a touch of grandeur await you. Unlock the door to your dream cottage and you'll ease effortlessly into the break you deserve.
Indulge in what you fancy... thrills, discovery, nature, a log fire, the finest seafood, beaches, a walk with the dog, or simply fresh Cornish sea air... it's all on your doorstep. All you need to do is get here so your holiday can begin.
Emily Boriosi, the grand-daughter of the founder Ruth Austen, took over the company in 2003 and continues to strive to provide quality and unique holiday homes in idyllic locations. Born and bred in the Falmouth area, she is very proud to be Cornish and live in ‘God's Country' as her grandfather used to say. Emily lives with her two school age children and two Jack Russells, Mole and Mingo. In her free time she loves to walk/run the coastal path and get out on the water, be it on a boat or a board.
Debbie Roberts, joined the company in June 2010 and is enjoying her time with CHC immensely. Having lived in Cornwall all her life and the Falmouth area for the past thirty years, she is finding it a pleasure to pass on local knowledge and help people locate their dream holiday home.
Dawn Thompson is married with two adult children and moved to Cornwall fourteen years ago. She has been with CHC since November 2007 and originally came for three months to cover the birth of Emily's first child, but she loved it so much, she is still here. Prior to working at CHC Dawn owned and ran a holiday park on the Lizard and this experience has proved very useful in her work at CHC also.
Rebecca Lazar is the most recent addition to the CHC team. Having moved down here from Watford to go to the University she never wants to leave Cornwall! She's still exploring the local areas herself and is looking forward to sharing what she finds through our blog, and you may notice it being quite food orientated as she is passionate about the food industry here in Cornwall.
Mole the Jack Russell, was virtually born into the CHC office on 21.11.05 and naturally thinks she owns the place, sitting in the window, looking out for anyone that might like to throw her a pine cone or two. Mingo 'the Jack Russell on stilts', moved from Malaga to live with us in 2012. You'll find him in the office most days or frolicking on the beach. You can follow his Facebook page here
