Our Environment

Concern for the environment is an integral and fundamental part of Cornish Holiday Cottages’ (CHC) business strategy. CHC is committed to good environmental management practice in connection with carrying out its own business operations.

  1. In our office we recycle paper, envelopes, printer cartridges and other office consumables.
  2. We use only energy saving light-bulbs in our office.
  3. Where possible we walk instead of driving and we keep our energy consumption down to a minimum.
  4. We only use 100% recycled paper.
  5. In our office we only use 100% recycled toilet roll, made without trees from whogivesacrap.org.
  6. We drink fair trade tea and coffee roasted just down the road from the office by Yallah .
  7. We are an active member of CoaST, (Cornwall Sustainable Tourism Project) and in 2005 were selected to be a CoaST Ambassador of Best Practice.
  8. CHC strives to engage with property owners to ensure all properties are functioning/operating as sustainably as possible.
  9. CHC strives to engage with visitors to ensure they keep their environmental footprint as light as possible.
  10. CHC provides each property and its guests with lots of information about the local area, encouraging guests to try local Cornish produce, use sustainable forms of transport and enjoy the wonderful sites and experiences that are right on your doorstep.
